Summary
The Volunteer Partner is committed to ImRoads’ mission of “Connecting Cultures through Career Counseling”. Our volunteers build bridges of relationship with immigrants and refugees in the South Puget Sound Region of Washington State, providing guidance through job coaching to meet one of their greatest needs; meaningful employment and career guidance.
Training
• Volunteer Orientation
• Training with an ImRoads Board Member
Time
• Approximately 3 hours/week
• Length of commitment varies
Duties
• Meet with ImRoads Friends to assess needs and career goals
• Assist ImRoads Friends with resume building, job searching, and interview preparation
• Build relationships that bridge cultural and religious differences
Qualifications
• Willing to serve others
• Approachable
• Open to making friends
• Respectful of others
• Flexible
• A good communicator and listener
• Able to make and keep commitments
• Agrees to affirm or support the ImRoads Statement of Faith
• Agrees to hold confidential all ImRoads Friends’ personal information
• Agrees to refrain from political discourse while engaged in ImRoads activities
